Créations COTHO

Fashion and repaint OOAK dolls artist. My name is Corinne Thorner; I live in France with my family. A pediatric nurse by trade, I have been led to work at home in order to take care of my children who are suffering from a rare disease. From an early age, I have always been enthralled by dolls of all kinds. Very young I was initiated to dressmaking, embroidering, miniature painting of figurines, and handcrafted objects. In 1999 I founded the "Creations COTHO" which combined all these different interests into a unified project: the creation of artist’s fashion dolls. My dolls have been awarded several international prizes. I draw my inspiration from fairy tales, novels and movies, from some peculiar matching of cloths and material. Other times, I simply follow my imagination. My creations are a faithful reflection of my free and rigorous mind: I may conceive a fairy, a women wearing a haute couture dress, a s well as a female warrior or some historical figure: for my desire for invention and novelty knows no boundaries. Every doll is unique and its face painted in a manner that fit, the colors of its clothing, its style and personality. I like the refinement of the French "Haute couture" and traditional techniques of hand-embroidery with thread, silk or beads, for which I use with delight the nicest materials: silks, organza, satins, braids and cordons, leathers, glass beads and crystal, ancient patterned laces, or yet the prestigious “dentelles de Calais.” The quality of my creations is enhanced by the use of such precious materials and hopefully my work in return contributes to the magnificence of the dolls. My dolls are just like me as: lively audacious individuals. It is my wish they’ll help you fulfilling your dreams. www.creationscotho.com
