Born in Moscow, Russia, Julia’s childhood was filled with a deep love for dolls and all things miniature. Growing up in a country so rich in culture stimulated her creative direction. She learned how to sew from her grandmother on an old Singer sewing machine. All throughout her childhood she was making clothes for her own dolls. Knowing that art and dolls would be a part of her life Julia pursued an art education. After immigrating to America, Julia attended Booker T. Washington High School for Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas, where she received skills in drawing, painting, sculpting, and more. After graduating Julia moved to California where she attended the California Institute of the Arts for Experimental Animation, where she earned a Fine Arts degree. Julia has been restoring and repainting Barbie dolls for over 10 years now. What started as a passion for wanting to make ugly, damaged dolls look gorgeous and sparkly once again has evolved into a way of artistic expression. Combining her skills as an artist and a love for the Barbie doll’s classic style of the 60s became the perfect creative outlet. Each OOAK doll intricately conveys images of the classic vintage style and femininity of days gone by. Julia is a relative newcomer to the Barbie community but has already made an impression on fans of her work through social media outlets, Ebay, and Barbie conventions. She has donated dolls to the silent auctions at the National Barbie Convention in 2014 & 15. Julia is honored and grateful to have her work shown here at the “Roma Fashion Doll Convention” and to help raise money for a wonderful charity.

Up for your consideration is a Fabulous One of a Kind Silkstone by JuliaOriginals. A beautiful Silkstone that has been completely transformed. Her gorgeous dark brunette hair is styled into an elegant twisted chignon up-do, and accented with white and pink flowers.Repainted to a one of a kind with the highest quality acrylic paint, “Domenica” now has deep and expressive green eyes. A soft palate of the palest pink with a shimmer of iridescent silver frames her eyes, her perfectly kissable lips are a beautiful shade of watermelon pink.She has soft dark curved eyebrows and light blush on cheeks. All the paint has been sealed, brows and lids with matte sealer…eyes and lips with gloss sealer. ~ All of the work is done free-hand.~ No stenciling, air brushing, or pastels are used!Doll will come in her original box with original stand inside and an artist signed/dated photograph of the doll. "Domenica" is a classic silhouette inspired by Audrey Hepburn in “Roman Holiday”. A delicate dress fashioned of pink lace and printed cotton. It has a super fitted long sleeved lace overlay bodice featuring a sexy strapless top…peaking out from underneath. The tiny waist is accented with ruched peach chiffon cummerbund sash with flowers. The full skirt features an embroidered lace trim at the hem. The big pale pink tulle underskirt, peaking out from under the hem with a dropped waist, keeps the dress full and flirty. The dress is fully lined on the inside and has a double snap closure in the back.
